You never had, nor was it an idea of Blizzard’s to sacrifice a character in order to have a Death Knight, no. That was a rumor made primarily for/by RP type players; something they thought would have been appropriate or cool I would venture.

What I’ve heard you can only have one Deathknight/realm and you need to have another character that is level 55+ on that realm to create the Deathknight. If I understand what I’ve read correctly, you won’t need to sacrifice other character for a deathknight

although death knights get durability their damage isnt really that… great and its gonna be tuff to do pvp with their main spell being an aoe… but frost DK could pose a threat with that sick dps ive seen..

so if they stay like that they will own every single player in bg and we will see a rampage from 1 deathknight that owns like 6 allies/hordes at time
