Another exciting improvement of Wrath of the Lich King is the Inscription System made available to World of Warcraft players. A handful of inscription glyphs for the priest and druid classes were updated in the Achievements System.

All About Glyphs

Glyphs are spells and ability enhancements that are generated by Inscription in Wrath King Achievements. You will have to stand close to a Lexicon of Power to install a glyph regardless if the glyph is minor or major. Look for a floating book which is actually the Lexicon of Power typically found right next to a Inscription trainer in capital cities excluding Shattrath City. Don’t get frustrated if you can’t find the Lexicon of Power, guards can provide you directions to the Lexicon. There isn’t any Lexicon of Power in Hellfire Peninsula despite the presence of the Master Inscription trainers.

A glyph made by Inscription requires you to stay near to a Lexicon of Power so that the glyph will be installed on your character’s glyph sheet. You will be given a new page in their spell book where you can store up to 6 glyphs, 4 major glyphs and 2 minor glyphs. Apparently, minor glyphs are minor enhancements while major glyphs are major enhancements to a spell or ability. Each player is limited to a certain number of enhancements you can do.

Gain a glyph based on the level you are currently in:

- Level 15: 1 Major, 1 Minor

- Level 30: 2 Major, 1 Minor

- Level 50: 2 Major, 2 Minor

- Level 70: 2 Major, 3 Minor

- Level 80: 3 Major, 3 Minor

Major Glyphs

Major glyphs establish large improvements to skill and will be deemed effective in combat. They can prolong and increase damage over time or stun to a physical attack.

Some examples of major glyphs are:

- Glyphs of Entangling Roots (Level 15 as Druids) – increases the damage your Entangling Roots victims can

take before the Entangling Roots automatically breaks by 20%.

- Glyph of Healing Touch (Level 15 as Druids) - decreases the cast time of Healing Touch by 1.5 seconds, the mana cost by 25% and amount healed by 50%

-  Glyph of Dispel Magic (Level 18 as Priest) – Your Dispel Magic spell also heals your target for maximum     health

- Glyph of Holy Nova (Level 20 as Priest) – Your Holy Nova spell heals for an additional 40%, but deals 40% less damage

Minor Glyphs

Minor glyphs give convenient or cosmetic improvements thereby removing the need for some spell reagents. Minor glyphs are learned only through discovery and by casting Minor Inscription Research.

Few examples are:

- Glyph of Revive Pet (Level 15 as Hunter) – Your mind pet spell increases your pet’s happiness slightly

- Glyph of Possessed Strength (Level 15 as Hunter) – Increases the damage your pet inflicts while using Eyes of the Best by 50%

- Glyph of Blood Tap (Level 55 as Death Knight) – Your Blood Tap no longer causes damage to you

- Glyph of Raise Ded (Level 55 as Death Knight) – You generate 20 runic power whenever you summon a ghoul

Glyphs in the Wrath of the Lich King may not be real class change like a new ability or talent but it sure does challenges you with all the large improvements and enhancements you can reap. These items were first seen in the beta version of Wrath of the Lich King but glyphs up to a skill of 375 are available as of Patch 3.0.2.
